The 4th of July in Astoria was a big deal. And as such, a bit party. Billy had sent out handwavey invites to alumni and Fandom friends to come join in the fun. Most of which didn't start until noon, which meant that Billy could have slept in if his little sister had allowed it.

[No OCD but the post is open to all. The invites said to meet at Billy's parents house or to call him to see where he's at. There's all sorts of stuff going on in the area.]

It appears to be dying. For awhile now it's been deciding that it will no longer run certain programs. No error message or anything, it simply won't run it.

Earlier today while I was checking the FH friends list, the screen blinked and when it came back my computer appeared to be in safe mode, as it seems to be stuck in.

Though Storm Shadow had offered to teach Jeanie as well, the girl had little interest in martial arts. Or meditation and all that for that matter. What she did enjoy though, was hanging out with her older brother.

"Are those girls watching me?" he asked her. They were making a sand castle on the beach and discussing what to do about her scheme of looking for pirate treasure. She'd heard a local legend about a chinese crew of pirates hiding some treasure in the mountains.

Jeanie took a glance over to where he had indicated. "Yup."

"Guess they've never seen a guy with an eye patch and only one leg before."

Jeanie smirked. "Maybe they think you're cute."

"They're what, nine, ten years old? Shouldn't they still think boys are icky?"

Billy's training was continuing. In addition to the training sessions on his step father's boat, which John Connor had been present for some of, Storm Shadow had bought a place and converted it into a dojo.

The building had once been a restaurant, and before that, a decommissioned light house. It sat on a bluff overlooking the pacific. It was a lovely place to train. It was picturesque, peaceful, and his sister had fun exploring the grounds nearby.

He'd had fun hanging out with his sister, gladly answering her never ending questions about his friends, Fandom, and his latest trip there. Though she was a bit disappointed that no big thing had happened at graduation.

Now though, he was going through a complicated kata out on the lawn.

I'M DEAD!!

"Permission to come aboard Captain?" Storm Shadow asked from the dock.

"Permission granted Tommy." Billy's stepfather LeCroix smiled. The ninja had requested to be allowed to come and observe Billy at his training as a sailor.

"Everyone aboard?" he asked his stepson.

"All set dad!" Billy said automatically.

There was a moment of silence.

"What did you just call me?" Sam looked at him with pleased surprise.

Billy was no less surprised. "I think I just called you dad."

Tommy snickered. "I shall endeavor not to be jealous."

[Billy has handwavily extended an invitation to his friends to come visit anytime. They are free to ping into this as passengers or even cremembers on the boat should they wish.]

Billy had an entire day to kill before heading to Astoria, so he took the time to explore the city. He'd spent any time here before.

Was it bad that one of the most interesting things he saw was a kid who looked like a Dreadknock playing the accordion on a street corner and singing "You Are My Sunshine" like it was funeral dirge?

All this talk of whether or not certain players have a type in terms of their characters has made me curious. Do I have a type? How about the rest of you? Well, that could have gone much worse. Zanya had not attempted to kill him for one thing. Nor had she looked particularly murderous towards Mei Ling. Though she didn't particularly seem happy about his decision. And she had told him he'd made the wrong choice. And she also reminded him that she had not betrayed him while his father was posing as her's.

With that out of the way, Billy was free to brood about what he'd heard on the Fandom Radio. It had been another AU Kids weekend. And apparently that particular brand of Fandomness had not followed him. Turning into a kid himself had still happened. But he hadn't gotten any visits from his future children.

Maybe he should get out of town for a weekend. Maybe Tori was free.

Billy awoke to the familiar sensation of needing a shave, and of missing an eye and a leg. He sighed. At least he'd managed to spend his weekend as a child, with his family. He decided he'd just lie here in the guest room for a while. He wasn't ready to be an adult again yet.
